Get a Clu
So in love with this brand right now. I know, I know. I just resigned at my old job at a clothing boutique, so maybe the discount-withdrawl is getting the best of me. I just think the lines of these pieces are fun, flirty, drapey and sophisticated all at once. And, neutral! Duh.

Wendy's Lookbook
Last week, I had the absolute joy of mixing business with pleasure. One of my favorite bloggers was kind enough to host an event with my company!
Seriously, Wendy is arguably one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Pair that with her everyday fashion brilliance, and her ability to mix high-and-low - she's a surefire winner. Plus, her blog has only been around less than a year.
Get ready to see a lot more of her, ladies. But, feel free to start stalking her, here.

Intern Appropriate
I started a new internship last week. I get to intern with a fabulous interior designer (site, here). Her clients are amazing, her staff is incredible, and I feel so energized being surrounded by so many intelligent, passionate women.
My only problem - I've been wearing jeans to work (almost exclusively) for the past 4 years.

Ready for Fall (Fashion)
Scott Schuman is a modern-day fashion god. I just wandered his website from last Fall, and it is amazing how he captures style, grace, and timeless fashion. I just bought the flare jeans, shown above, and feel they are as stunning as ever.
And, I am now super excited to know how to transition all my platform cut-outs into Fall. In case you have never heard of The Sartorialist blog, there's a great article found here. (yeah...my bf sent me this one....)

Satchel Up
Totes Caitlin's fault. She was carrying this satchel the other day. Yes, Kate Spade did one. So did J.Crew. And countless other designers.
But why is Caitlin so bomb? In her words "...I dunno...it's the one that little English kids carry their school books in." The Cambridge Satchel Company. Yup. And guess what? They ship to the good ol' U.S. of A. Get to shoppin'! I promise, it comes in 'normal' colors, too.

Vintage Vantage
Ya' know that girl that wore culottes, like, years before they were cool? Or the girl you whizzed past at the thrift store, seriously curious why she spent so long on the 'lame rack'? Or the girl that bought the gross men's blazer with intentions of turning it into a dress - and then actually did it?
Yeah. Her name is Hanah Salas de Saucedo. And she is good.

My Fault
So, all I can say is, this must be love....and...(in case the BF is reading this)...I may have ruined him. I took his 'baby, does this look okay?' and rolled it in 'do I need to get these in this color?' and sprinkled it with a heavy dose of 'baby, they have that one on sale now! do I need it, too?'. Yes... All. My. Fault.

Nude...Not Naked
I read the fashion blogs. I read the mags. I even Google images at an extraordinary rate. And, I know, there is one beauty trend I can not get on board with - bright lip color.

The Blaze
First, let me blame Miss D for this one....her lil' man was flipping through a kids' catalogue one morning, and in the manliest-tone-possible, asked his momma for "a blaze for his birthday". True. Story. Swear.
But, on to the good bits. I found this blazer at a thrift store during their 'best of the best' weekend. Talked them down to $15 (mighty steep for a thrift store, but both parties knew I was gonna walk out with it anyway).

Rings n' Things
Again, in the process of cleaning and organizing the closet. I noticed an obvious trend in my ring assortment. I only wear huge rings. And I mean, really huge.

Ne-ON!
Remember these? Yeah, this is my level of neon. Exciting, I know. I love neon, but the purchasing bit is intimidating, and I'm always curious how I would actually wear it.
But...then I saw this dress. I love. Neutral with neon. Perfection.
And I saw this bag. Love more. Side-note, this dude is wearing it flawlessly. Neutral blaze, neutral tee, neutral shorts. Hmmm...do you think he'd be willing to re-do my closet?

Poncho Envy
So, I tend not to be adventurous in my fashion. Tailored - yes. Polished - yes. But, adventurous I am not. So, when I saw this photo (thanks, google) I was tempted to put a poncho on for size.

Last Three
I'm always curious how people justify their purchases. I mean un-necessary purchases. Let's be honest - I don't need another pair of shoes. But how do I justify those $30, $45, or $50 shoes each time?
There's a great article by GQ...great that it features Scott from the Sartorialist, dishing about how to purchase, so that you never have to think about your purchases.

Oh, Hello Friend
Aside from a warm and inviting salutation, this is also my new favorite CA-based jewelry line. Delicately balancing masculine scale and finishes with dainty, sweet themes.
Antique charms, lockets and watches; paired with a modern twist.
Oh, Hello Friend can be purchased through Etsy.com (or, quick link here). There's also a great blog, that highlights all their current inspirations (seen here). And the best bit...they are all under $30. Get to getting!

Sparkle & Shine....and Sweat
I've mentioned this before: I love to mix very high-end, extravagant fabrics with casual, everyday pieces. I love the look of layering sequins with knits, sweats, and fleece. I've rocked my sequin shorts with a hoodie and flip-flops on numerous occasions.
So I was very happy when I discovered some of my favorite photographers, Corrie Bond and Travis Grace, shared this love. Both are represented by 2C, and both of these amazing photographers can be viewed, here.

When, Where...Shoes, Please
Waiting for new shoe collections is my version of waiting for the NFL draft. Giddiness, ranking my favorites, hoping they will end up somewhere near my town. Sigh...Soon, my babies, soon.
I discovered MiCapri shoes, only to immediately discover that the line is not in any stores...yet! Hand-carved from alder wood, and swathed in lambskin. With names that even reference Imelda Marcos...I can get behind this brand. Here's to hoping they're as comfortable as they are sculptural. Start ramping your level of anticipation, here.

Tribute to Tribal
I love the idea of the tribal trend. I love the colors, the textures and prints. But...I am far too white. I wish I could wear a floor-length caftan with the loudest print know to man. But - sigh - this is not in the cards for me.
Next best thing? How can I pop this trend into my wardrobe, without seeming forced, garish, or worse - wrong? First up: Missioni for Havianas. The comfort of Havianas patented rubber soles, with the colors and prints from the Missioni gods.
Then, I discovered Josh Goot (courtesy of Jak&Jil.com). While this dress may not traditionally fall within the tribal framework, I consider it to be a modern translation. And, one I would love to wear.
The California-girl in me can't help but fall in love with this take. Easy, chic and bohemian, but punched up with huge, tribal-inspired accessories. I could wear this every day.

The Star is Stripes
Apparently, if you ask my closet, the only print I am aware of is (you guessed it) "stripes". So, it seemed only fitting that I try to find inspiration on how to dress without stripes.
