Last Three

I'm always curious how people justify their purchases.  I mean un-necessary purchases.  Let's be honest - I don't need another pair of shoes.  But how do I justify those $30, $45, or $50 shoes each time?
There's a great article by GQ...great that it features Scott from the Sartorialist, dishing about how to purchase, so that you never have to think about your purchases.

When, Where...Shoes, Please

Waiting for new shoe collections is my version of waiting for the NFL draft.  Giddiness, ranking my favorites, hoping they will end up somewhere near my town.  Sigh...Soon, my babies, soon.
I discovered MiCapri shoes, only to immediately discover that the line is not in any stores...yet!  Hand-carved from alder wood, and swathed in lambskin.  With names that even reference Imelda Marcos...I can get behind this brand.  Here's to hoping they're as comfortable as they are sculptural.  Start ramping your level of anticipation, here.

Ivory Towers

Ports 1961 from runway S/S '11, found here

Never mind the elongating factor.  Never mind the neutral, wear-with-everything appeal.  Never mind the ever-closer-to-six-feet-tall.  This is love.
And, in the words of Avery Jessup (props if you know who that fictional character is)... flat shoes are for quitters.

Firmly Grounded

Loving this trend. Chunkier heels ground the look more, and can make even a springy, effervescent sundress have more weight. The heavier proportions also tend to help out women with more muscular, curvier physiques - they don't contrast so sharply, the way a pencil-thin stiletto would. Brava!
